These departments act in the field of safety of work, environment protection, protection against fire, covering the whole activities within the Institute.
With the development of the mineral industry and mining, the complex problems have appeared mainly in the field of safety of work, protection against fire and environment protection, which in order to be solved required specific scientific and technical efforts and solutions.
These departments covers the activities in:
- environment protection,
- laboratory for chemical and technological analysis,
- mine ventilation and dust control,
- safety at work, with protection against fire,
- ergonomic.
The department for environment protection was equipped with samplers for chemical pollutants, steam and solid aerosols and samplers for continuos monitoring of their emmisivity in the chimneys and channels of the power and industrial plants.
In the first years, the activity was directed towards the respirable dust control in the underground mines by wet and ventilation methods.
Continuous scientific-research activities have been established, with financial arrangements with Republic community for scientific activities, Zletovo, Sasa and Toranica mines and Community for Pension and Disable Insurance, on the contract base. |
